Hi everyone I’m in Las Vegas getting ready for the Big Blues Bender this weekend, looking forward to seeing all my friends and fans. Looking on the brighter side of things despite the rain in Baton Rouge the Bloodline CD is starting to take a life of its own and doing well on the radio charts across the country. It’s already been submitted for the 2017 Grammy’s and also the Blues Music Awards in Memphis. I am so heart broken that my dear friend Kenny Neal and his family have to face this devastation! Kenny and I became friends during my tenure with Albert Collins and have shared the stage and many good times so many times since. I had the honor and pleasure of recording a record with Kenny Neal and Tab Benoit, HOMESICK FOR THE ROAD, for the Telarc Label in 1999, and in the studio with Kenny I was able to experience the real depth and breath of his talent! In between takes we would laugh and goof around and Kenny would grab all of the instruments and just wail! Musically, he became the producer of that CD. Kenny is so deep as a blues man, he is truly a living legend. He is also a beautiful human being! I hope we can get the family back to rebuilding their homes!
