Carolina Confessions Out Oct. 5

Hey Y’all!

We’re very excited to share with you another new track off Carolina Confessions, “Where I’m Headed,” which premiered Friday on Billboard and is now available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Apple Music. The new album is out October 5 and is currently available for pre-order in the MKB Store where you can get access to T-shirts, Lithographs, Test Pressings, Signed Vinyl and more. We’re very excited about the new record and can’t wait to share more with you!

We’d also like to thank you all for the amazing support on our Summer Tour. Many of the shows have been sold out and we cannot thank you enough. It’s been a blast on the road so far with Bishop Gunn and we look forward to our return to Europe before hitting the states again this Fall with Ida Mae.

With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce our return to Georgia this December. Pre-sale tickets will be available Wednesday, September 12 at 12p ET with tickets going on sale Friday, September 14 at 10a ET.

We’ll be making stops in Cleveland (May 22), Fort Wayne (May 23), Kalamazoo (May 24), a return to Europe (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands – May 31 – June 9), and stops at the Hot August Music Festival (Aug 18) and Burley Oak Brewing Company (Aug 19). We are very excited to announce that we will be joining our good friends Umphrey’s McGee for six shows this February in Columbus, Kalamazoo, Washington, DC and Asheville. We are very excited to share with you all that we will be celebrating the end of 2017 with two shows at the Gramercy Theatre in New York December 28 + 29 and then we will ring in 2018 at Baltimore Sound Stage.

This October 6 & 7, The Marcus King Band and their family & friends will descend on Pisgah Brewing in Black Mountain, NC for the inaugural The Marcus King Band Family Reunion, a 2-day music festival featuring a lineup curated by King himself. The festival will feature performances by Blackberry Smoke, David Shaw (Solo Acoustic), Muddy Magnolias, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, George Porter Jr. and the Runnin’ Pardners, BIG Something, Travers Brothership, Ron Holloway Band, Leah Blevins, Gabriel Kelley, That’s What’s Up and more.

Pre-sale tickets for The Marcus King Band Family Reunion will be available Thursday, August 24 at MarcusKingBand.com, followed by the public on-sale Friday, August 25. 2-day tickets start at $49.50.

Given their almost non-stop tour schedule, The Marcus King Band tends to miss out on the family reunions they cherished growing up. “I remember these gatherings were always the happiest time for me as a kid. A stress-free environment where you are free to love the people you’re around,” explains King. “That’s the aesthetic we want to bring to our festival. Community and happiness. There are no separate agendas being forced on anyone. Just an all-around good time.”

The Marcus King Band will perform a full set on Friday, October 6, and will host a special Marcus King Band Family set on Saturday, October 7, with guest appearances by David Shaw, Ron Holloway, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, George Porter Jr. and more. The full festival lineup and set times will be announced later this summer.

A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit two local non-profits near and dear to The Marcus King Band: Cannabis Forward, a Greenville-based organization that raises awareness of the medical benefits of marijuana, and Mental Health America of Greenville County, an organization that positively impacts mental health through advocacy, awareness and service.

Hey Y’all!

It’s been a while since we’ve shared some new music with you all, and we’re very excited to share that our friends at Daytrotter have now put our session on their site as a download for their members. And if you’re not a member, don’t worry, you can stream the set at Paste Magazine.

Marcus also recently stopped by KRCL in Salt Lake City and KOTO in Telluride, CO to play some tracks live on-air. You can check out those videos on our Facebook page.

We’re also very excited to share the latest issue of Guitar Player Magazine with you. Marcus graces the cover as part of their YouthQuake feature on 10 Young Players Spreading the Gospel of Kick-Ass Guitar. Pick up your copy August 1!

We’re wrapping up our North West run with shows this week in Lander, Winthrop, Seattle and Portland before we head out for the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan (super stoked about that one) and then it’s back on to the East Coast to round out the Summer.

Hey Y’all!

After having a little time off, we’re fresh, recharged and ready to get back on the road! We kicked off our Summer touring with a SOLD OUT show at The Big House in Macon, GA Saturday night and will be making our way out to the West Coast with stops at WTTS Rock on the River (Indianapolis), Summerfest (Milwaukee), The Ride Festival (Telluride), Targhee Fest (Alta) and many more in between. So for all of you who have been asking for us to stop in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Missoula, Omaha, Kansas City… we’ll see you real soon!

We recently also had the opportunity to join Umphrey’s McGee in Augusta. MK sat in with Umphrey’s on Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’ and that whole set is streaming over on Live For Live Music.

Marcus also did an AMA with Reddit and if you ever wondered what color he would change the sky to (if he could), where he gets his hats from, or how the Wu Tang Clan, Whiskey and Tea are related, you should check it out!

Finally, we have just added a few more dates to our touring schedule. We’ll be coming to Toronto, Montreal, Key West, Ft. Lauderdale and St. Petersburg later on this year.
