Ted Nugent Says Stevie Wonder is a “Brain Dead numnut” for Boycotting Florida

Ted Nugent has done it again.  He has opened his big mouth to spit venom and this time his target is a fellow musician. As if it was not bad enough that he insulted the character of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, now he is attacking an icon of the music industry: Stevie Wonder.

A few weeks ago, Wonder announced that he would boycott the state of Florida because of the verdict. Wonder told a Quebec City audience, “I decided today that until the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again.”  Wonder goes on to say, “As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world.”

This is not the first time that Wonder has used his voice to champion social justice. He was instrumental in Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday being recognized as a federal holiday.

Many applaud Stevie Wonder for using his platform to champion social justice issues, but not Nugent who was offended by Wonder’s most recent position.

Nugent told WXBR: “So 700 black people, mostly young children and young people were slaughtered in Chicago last year by black people, and not a peep out of Stevie Wonder. Are you kidding me? What is this, ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’? How brain-dead do you have to be?”

He also said he would pray for ”Stevie Wonder and all these other numnuts who think that Trayvon Martin’s life is more important than the tens of thousands of slaughtered blacks at the hands of blacks.”

Nugent, known for his outrageous political views has stepped on so many toes, but did he overstep his boundaries here?  It’s possible, but that’s what he’s known for.   It’s not as if he’s ever shown any concern for black children in the past, so this might be a political strategy.   But unfortunately for Ted, even his fellow conservatives don’t take him all that seriously.
