Award winning Blues/Funk/Soul Artist Phil Gates announced his premiere date and first look of his newly assembled musical band Wednesday, August 31st, 2022 at Rams Head On Stage-33 West St. Annapolis, MD., having recently returned to the States from living abroad.

Also performing on the same evening will be DMV Blues Staple Linwood Taylor with his band. The two bands together in one night sets up an exciting musical evening not soon to be forgotten.

Rams Head On Stage is a major performance venue located in the heart of Annapolis. “I’m excited to be performing at Rams Head especially for our first show, and to introduce the music and the band to Annapolis, and the U.S. East Coast” says Gates. The Band

Phil has been living and performing in Europe for the last 5 years in The Netherlands, Greece, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland with his European Band. Now in the States, he has put together a new band with himself on Guitar and Vocals, Annamaria Raffaella on Keys, Rodney Dunton on Drums, and Mike Tony Echols on Bass. This is a powerhouse band that performs uptempo Blues, Funk and Soul musical numbers, many written by Gates from the twelve records he has released to date.

About Phil Gates

Award Winning Chicago born Recording Artist Phil Gates is an American Blues, Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Funk Artist. Phil has performed in small clubs, to the Halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl. Phil tours both in the U.S. and Europe. Winner of the “Beale Street Blues Kings” Competition in Memphis, TN and competed in the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge (IBC) after winning for all of Southern California. He has twice been a judge of the IBC, and the Guitar Center “King of the Blues” competitions in Hollywood, CA. Phil also founded the Los Angeles Blues Society.
