Paris/Berlin, 16 May 2024. An event that even football star Kylian Mbappé does not often experience: in front of numerous journalists, TV teams and a dozen of kids of his foundation INSPIRED by KM, the world-famous player personally presented his wax figure, which will now be part of the exhibition at Madame Tussauds Berlin. The impressive wax figure took a total of eleven months to make. The elaborate sitting, during which every centimeter of Kylian Mbappé’s body was measured and his skin and eye colour determined, took place in Paris in 2023 and took around four hours. The footballer is shown in his characteristic celebratory pose, recognizable to all. The wax figure, which weighs 30 kilograms and is 1.78 meters tall, was made with the utmost precision at MMM Studios in London. It is wearing the French national jersey that will be worn during Euro 2024. ‘I’m really proud, the figure is very realistic. It’s amazing how many details have to be taken into account on the way to a wax figure. When my team told me that I had this opportunity, I was immediately excited at the idea of being among so many personalities who have inspired me and continue to inspire me. I’m very happy with the result. Congratulations to all the teams involved in this wonderful project.’ – Kylian Mbappé. ‘We feel incredibly honoured that Kylian has agreed to this and are delighted to be able to present his wax figure in our exhibition. Kylian Mbappé is not only an exceptional sportsman, but also an inspiration to many people around the world.’ – Nadja Troublefield, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Berlin. The Kylians wax likeness will now be transported to the German capital and can be admired by fans at Madame Tussauds Berlin from Sunday, 19 May.
