On the 7th of May, 1964, a one of a kind concert, billed as The Blues and Gospel Train, was held for a small audience in the southern Manchester suburb of Whalley Range. Organized by Granada TV producer Johnnie Hamp, the truly unique concert was an offshoot of The Blues and Gospel Tour, which was touring Europe for its second year running. Freddie King Asks About Love
Freddie King gave a jaw-dropping performance of the Billy Myles-penned classic “Have You Ever Loved a Woman” in Los Angeles, circa 1970. King first recorded the song in 1961, which had a particular influence on Eric Clapton, who included it on Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs and regularly performs it to this day.
