Jeff “The Count” Artabasy:
Jeff Artabasy is affectionately known as “the Count” in the Tampa / St Petersburg, Florida music circles has been playing bass guitar for 40 years. Jeff has played with many people over that time span including Billy Preston, Felix Cavalare, Evelyn Champagne King, in backup roles as well as opened shows for greats such as James Brown. In 1998,99, and 2000 Jeff kicked bass for Capricorn recording artist Captain Beyond and did the 5 o’clock time slot at the Sweden Rock Fest in Karlsham Sweden, playing right before Deep Purple. Recently Count has played bass for Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dan Toler and The Toler Townsend Band.
Over that time span Jeff has been in every conceivable musical and band situation including rock ,funk, and jazz aggregations. Coming from a musical family backround his father Bobby Artabasy played drums in big bands in the 40s and 50s and 60s (Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Palmer,and Tommy Sheridan), “The Count” knows the meaning of essential pulse and can groove and drive a band like no other.
