This pristine footage showcases a true American treasure asReverend Gary Davisexpertly lays down his unquestionably epic gospel blues piece“The Children of Zion”. This beautifully recorded performance comes from an episode of Rainbow Quest, a 1960’s television program hosted by Peter Seeger that focused on traditional American music genres such was the blues, bluegrass, and folk music. In this recording you can see how captivated not only Seeger is by this blind blues legend, but also the other two guests. The jaw of the Shawn Phillips, the man on the far left, stays dropped throughout the entirety of Davis’ performance.
