Biographie de Klee Benally : |

|
Klee Benally est un Diné (Navajo). Musicien, danseur traditionnel, cinéaste, et anarchiste indigène, il vit actuellement à Flagstaff, en Arizona. Klee est originaire de Black Mesa et a travaillé presque toute sa vie dans la résistance et dans les luttes pour protéger les terres sacrées autochtones. Il fut parmi ceux et celles qui tinrent le siège de la patrouille frontalière en Arizona pour mettre un terme à la militarisation de la frontière. Il compta parmi les multiples arrestations pour ses actions directes pour protéger les San Francisco Peaks et d’autres lieux sacrés menacés. Klee continue de se battre aujourd’hui pour un monde vivable et sain. |

Il est actuellement coordinateur du projet de Indigenous Media Action et bénévole àProtect the Peaks efforts et à Taala Hooghan Infoshop. En 2004, Klee a participé à la création d’Outta Your Backpack Media, un projet d’autonomisation des jeunes pour la justice dans les médias dans les communautés autochtones. Depuis 20 ans, Klee fait partie du groupe punk-rock Blackfire qui a remporté le prix des Native American Music Award. Blackfire tourne sur les scènes nationales et internationales et a joué sur les scènes du Warped Tour, le Ryman Auditorium, à un festival dans le désert du Mali, à l’Olympia à Paris. Il a également joué avec le groupe de danse de renommée internationale traditionnelle Diné, The Jones Benally famille, depuis qu’il est très jeune. |

Mamm Douar est organisé par l’association Ingalañ, qui agit pour la promotion et la création d’échanges équitables locaux et internationaux. Elle participe à la construction ainsi qu’au développement des luttes et alternatives sociales et écologiques ici comme ailleurs. Plus qu’un rendez-vous festif, c’est aussi un événement militant qui ne cache pas son jeu. |

Samedi: · Conférence : « Xénophobie, populisme, autoritarisme, extrême droite, cette Europe qui monte » Loin d’être une surprise, le score des partis d’extrême droite à l’occasion des élections européennes est une photo, un instant T d’un phénomène courant depuis quelques décennies, s’accélérant depuis quelques années. La boîte de pandore s’est-elle ouverte ? La tentation du repli sur soi, la peur de l’étranger, le sentiment d’être « envahi », les discours populistes, la recherche de boucs émissaires entre aujourd’hui dans une certaine banalité. La faute à la crise ? Le nazisme, visiblement plus diffus dans la mémoire collective, est arrivé par les urnes. Est-ce par les urnes que nous pourrons combattre son éventuel retour ? Le fascisme n’est-il déjà installé sous sa forme moderne ? · “Mamm Douar, Terre Mère : Regards des nations indiennes” Installé pour 2ème édition à St Nolff, le rassemblement festif et militant Mamm Douar a eu lieu pour la première fois à Campénéac en 2009, en opposition au projet de décharge en forêt de Brocéliande. Ce fut cette année là, l’occasion de rencontrer Klee Benally, guitariste du groupe Punk Dineh (Navajo) « Black Fire ». Pour l’édition de 2014, alors qu’un focus sera consacré au prisonnier politique Léonard Peltier (anishinaabe lakota), Ingalañ donne la parole à plusieurs militant-e-s de différentes nations amérindiennes pour entendre ce que signifie pour eux le titre de ce rassemblement, Mamm Douar ou Terre Mère. Emprunt de spiritualité, ce nom raisonne, avec une amplitude grandissante, de luttes et résistances. · “Prisonnier-e-s politiques de ces « démocraties »” Au nord comme au sud, il ne suffit pas de se prétendre une démocratie pour ne pas avoir de prisonnier-e-s politique. Hélas, la liberté d’expression, la résistance et l’autodétermination des peuples, même si elles sont inscrites dans les constitutions de nombre de démocraties qui se donnent en exemple sur les droits des hommes, des femmes et des citoyen-ne-s est loin d’être une réalité. Qu’il s’agisse de la Russie à l’est, des Etats-Unis à l’ouest ou de l’Europe, nous dénonçons le comportement des Etats donneurs de leçons. · “Afrique sahélienne : non assistance à société en danger !” En Afrique, la situation est particulièrement complexe. À la dégradation des sols s’ajoute le fait que la plupart des petits exploitants que compte le continent n’ont pas les moyens d’acheter des engrais. Or, pour parvenir à éviter des famines de grande ampleur, l’Afrique doit multiplier par deux sa production alimentaire d’ici 2050. Quelles solutions choisir? L’agroécologie apparaît comme une solution incontournable puisqu’elle assainit les sols et permet un rendement conséquent, valorisant également le travail des paysan-ne-s, leur donnant les moyens de leur autonomie. Intervenant-e-s : René Billaz, agronome, spécialiste de la zone sahélienne, scientifique et homme de terrain, il mène depuis 2003 des activités de recherche et développement dans les zones sub-arides du Burkina Faso.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF INGALAN FLYER
1st Frame (page1 – cream)
In the Breton language Mamm Douar, the name of the festival and activist gathering organised by the organisation Ingalan, means “mother earth”. It’s first iteration took place at Campénéac, on the edge of the Brocéliande forest, and was against local plans for a large landfill site. The second festival took place on the Breton coast, at Arredon and was the launch of a new trade network to transport wine, organic of course, by sail boat.
In 2013, Mamm Douar shifted scale with the support and presence of Manu Chao. Sited at St Nolff, a village near the city of Vannes and named by the local mayor as ‘A Commune of the world’, the “Not just a festival” became a key part of the Breton summer festival scene and welcomed 17 000 people.
At the heart of the day long festival was an activist village with over forty groups and collectives with stands ranging from international solidarity networks to groups defending the Breton language, sail boat trade groups to Antifascist collectives, peasant farm-worker unions to ocean defence activists.
2nd Frame (page2 – white)
Ingalañ was founded in January 2004 by Breton activists working on local and international fair trade, wanting to develop means of campaigning on the issue across Brittany.
The aims of Ingalañ were clear from the outset. A refusal to supply supermarkets with fair traded goods, a critique of its’s cooptation by multinationals, and a recognition that local processes should be inseparable from international ones. To give capitalism a human face is neither the aim nor the hope of the organization’s members, but rather to oppose the system and to construct alternatives. In 2012 the organisation added social and ecological struggles and the building of alternatives to its campaigning sphere.
3ème Encart (page 2- vert)
The aim of organising Mamm Douar for Ingalañ are :
– To showcase its values by offering organic food and drink, locally produced if possible, to the public.
– To alert the general public to issues such as the inequality of the global north south divide, the social and ecological catastrophes that are occurring now and in the future, social and ecological struggles, and the construction of concrete realistic alternatives.
– To enable the festival public to act after having been informed about such issues.
– To raise autonomous funds for Ingalañ’s locally lead projects in West Africa and Chile.
4the Frame (page 2- pink)
Multinational Corporation Monsanto first officially emerged in Burkina Faso in 2009 via its Genetically modified (GMO) cotton, and chose the country as its doorway to invade West Africa. To do this, Monsanto teamed up the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, whose role is to wear the mask of humanitarian projects whilst promoting the ‘eternal miracle’ solutions of GMO’s.
Following Mamm Douar 2013 and the presence of Ousmane Tiendrébéogo, general secretary of peasant farm workers union Syntap, Ingalan committed itself to supporting the anti GMO struggle in Burkina Faso by financing a post in the union.
In addition to this commitment Ingalan is promoting the development of Agroecology (via trainings, and the planting of 4000 nitrogen fixing trees) and supporting the Burkina National Platform for Fait Trade (PNCE-B)
5th Frame (page 2 – orange)
In the context of its support for indigenous resistance, Ingalañ has been sending legal observers to the court cases of Mapuche activists who have been prosecuted by the Chilean state, using anti terror laws that date from Pinochet’s time.
The Mapuche people have been engaged in struggles for generations, in defence of their rights, their culture and to reclaim land grabbed off them by forestry multinationals
6th Frame (page3 –violet)
For 2014, Mamm Douar returns to the St Nolff site, in a similar spirit, with the same aims but with some changes, including the date which has been shifted a week to coincide with the July bank holiday weekend.
Smaller but lasting 3 days.
The public will be reduced to 8000 visitors per day. The entire festival machine will therefore scaled down, will require less space and thus allow there to be a campsite. This will enable us to improve our capacity to host the public and to extend the event to last three days. The first two will be like last year: concerts, dj’s and an activist village. The third and final day will be without a stage but with events taking place at ground level in the field, including a farmer’s market and the activist village remaining.
As much partying, in fact a bit more than before, but more listening, discussions and reflection.
For 2014 we want more debates, loads of them, big and small, with famous and less famous speakers, with events that hope to be crammed packed and others, which wish for more intimacy. We want participatory debates in open forums and performance lectures that make serious thinkers laugh out loud.
In short we want show our colours even more by inviting people to shed their party clothes. Why not have a good confab over breakfast even if it takes place at noon! And there’s nothing like a strong cup of Zapatista coffee to get those neurones reconnected.
7th Frame (page3 – blue)
One of the key terms at the heart of the process of Mamm Douar, is support.
It comes from the commitment of the volunteers mobilised for the event. It’s in the fundraising to enable the Burkinabé’s resistance to Monsanto’s GMO assault. Its found when we stand beside the Mupache in struggle. It’s also the money spent on the shot of morning and evening coffee which makes its way to the insurgent Zapatistas.
The support is also there in the form of local organisations that provide the organic catering, And last but not least its in the approach of the artists who support Mamm Douar and our campaigning. Every artist whatever their status or fame is paid the same (minimum wage) and has all their expenses covered.

KLEE BENALLY
Klee Benally is a Diné (Navajo) musician, traditional dancer, filmmaker, & indigenous anarchist. He currently lives in Flagstaff, Arizona. Klee is originally from Black Mesa and has worked most of his life at the front lines in struggles to protect Indigenous sacred lands. From occupying Border Patrol headquarters in Arizona to call an end to border militarization to multiple arrests in direct action to protect the San Francisco Peaks and other threatened sacred places, Klee fights for a livable and healthy world.He currently is project coordinator of Indigenous Action Media and volunteers with Protect the Peaks efforts and Taala Hooghan Infoshop. In 2004, Klee helped start Outta Your Backpack Media, a youth empowerment project for media justice in Indigenous communities.For 20 years Klee performed with Native American Music Award winning punk-rock group Blackfire. Blackfire toured nationally and internationally and played on stages from the Warped Tour, the Ryman Auditorium, Festival in the Desert Mali, Africa, to L’Olympia in Paris, France. He also performed with the internationally acclaimed traditional Diné dance group, The Jones Benally Family, since he was very young.
