Headed to DC for the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Competition, a special tribute to the late George Duke, who was a longtime friend of the Institute who was scheduled to serve as the Musical Director, and the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Wayne Shorter. I’ll be performing with Ledisi, Roy Hargrove, Herbie Hancock, Robben Ford,Jimmy Heath, Take 6, Branford Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, the winner of the competition and several other friends. Really looking forward to it.
