Guitarist Dave “Fuze” Fiuczynski joins the altoist’s longtime rhythm sectionFor his 13th album as a leader or co-leader, Gamak (ACT), alto saxophonist and composer Rudresh Mahanthappa has assembled a new quartet featuring guitarist David “Fuze” Fiuczynski, bassist François Moutin and drummer Dan Weiss. Weiss and Moutin are part of Mahanthappa’s long-running quartet, which was last recorded for the 2006 album Codebook. The album will be released Jan. 29 in the U.S., and Jan. 7 internationally. Mahanthappa composed and produced all of the music on the album.
