Legendary UK rockers Thunder have announced reissues of their first 3 albums, ‘Backstreet Symphony’, ‘Laughing On Judgement Day’, and ‘Behind Closed Doors’.

Released on BMG on 28th April, the reissued expanded albums feature rare, deleted, and unreleased bonus live versions of hits from each album. The albums will be available on CD Digipak, as well as on 2LP Limited Edition Colour Vinyl – the first time that the trio will be available on vinyl since their original release.

‘Backstreet Symphony’ was released in 1990 to huge critical and commercial success. It was produced by Andy Taylor from Duran Duran, peaked in the UK album chart at No.21, and has since gone gold. It spawned five hit singles; ‘Love Walked In’, ‘Dirty Love’, ‘Gimme Some Lovin’, ‘She’s So Fine’, and the title track which also charted in the UK. The record has gone on to be a classic of the band’s catalogue and many of its songs are still in the band’s live set today.Their follow-up ‘Laughing On Judgement Day’ was released in 1992 and entered the UK album charts at No.2 (beaten to number 1 by Kylie’s Greatest Hits), achieving gold sales status and spawning four UK top 40 singles; ‘Low Life In High Places’, ‘Everybody Wants Her’, ‘A Better Man’, and ‘Like A Satellite’. The album saw Thunder break internationally, touring heavily worldwide.

‘Behind Closed Doors’ was originally released in 1995, peaking at No.5 in the album charts and reinforced Thunder as one of Britain’s premier rock bands. The album was co-produced by guitarist Luke Morley & Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Bryan Adams), and featured writing contributions from every member of the band; as well as Andy Taylor. Singles ‘Stand Up’, ‘River Of Pain’, and ‘Castles In The Sand’ all reached the UK top 40 single charts, and the album is considered a classic among fans of the band and hard rock alike.

Backstreet Symphony pressed is a double LP; 1 gold disc & 1 silver disc.
Laughing On Judgement Day is a double LP; 1 white disc & 1 blue disc.
Behind Closed Doors is a double LP; 1 clear disc and 1 red disc.

A new three disc version of recent album ‘All The Right Noises’ is now available to pre-order from the Thunder store.
The set includes a 20-page booklet, as well as two CDs and a DVD. The DVD includes footage from the Thunder TV Special released in March 2021, plus bonus audio and videos.
For a limited time, all 2CD/DVD orders will include a signed set list from the TV special.

New Album – All The Right Noises

We’re extremely pleased to announce the release of our 13th Thunder studio album “All The Right Noises”, on March 12th 2021.
Recorded in 2019 & early 2020, it was originally scheduled to be released in September 2020. Then Covid-19 happened and everything stopped. The November tour was moved back to May 2021, so the album had to go back too. We were choked!
Since we finished it in March, we’ve been busting to play this collection of songs to the world, but we’ve had to keep quiet. It’s been very frustrating, but finally the time has come and we’re able to tell the world about it.
Please Remain Seated (2019) was what we call a “sit down” album, and extremely good fun album to make, with the re-working of our old tunes. It gave us a chance to try different things, but it also allowed us to reflect on what we do best, namely blues based British classic rock at its riff-tactic best. We were always going to return to our roots, and we’ve done so in a big way with “All The Right Noises”. Those who thought we were ready for our pipe and slippers are definitely in for a bit of a shock!
Though we say so ourselves, it’s extremely good. “You would say that” we hear you cry, and you’re right of course, but it’s not just us. The few who have heard it are already calling it the best Thunder album ever. Maybe it’s too early to say, and we’re too close to it to comment of course, but we can say with complete sincerity that we’re very pleased with it, it’s 100% classic Thunder, and it’s 100% rock!

It’s 30 years of Thunder this year, so we’ve decided to release the first ever band curated Greatest Hits compilation on September 27th 2019.

“Thunder – The Greatest Hits” will feature at least 1 track from all of our 12 studio albums. There’s even a couple of our favourite covers thrown in there too. We hope you’ll like having all the bangers in one handy place.

There will be 28 remastered tracks, available on Triple Vinyl, 2xCD, 3xCD & Digital formats. The 3CD version includes the live show we streamed at Planet Rock’s London studios on January 18th this year. The artwork is chock full of memorabilia pics and interviews too.

We thought you might like to know that we’ve arranged a Christmas show for 2018. It will take place in London at the Roundhouse on Friday 21st December.

Everyone who knows anything about us knows that our Christmas shows are unlike any other shows we do and to be able to do it in the Roundhouse this year is really exciting.
A limited number of VIP packages will go on sale on Thursday 28th June and the rest of the tickets will be available to buy on the next day, Friday 29th.

Full ticket info and links to purchase will be live at 9am both days on our website www.thunderonline.com. 

We’re planning a full UK tour for early 2019 to coincide with the release of our next album. Both will be very different to anything we’ve done before. We hope to be able to announce them in September.

With the London show taking place at Christmas, we’ve decided not to include a London date in the tour so if London is your preference, the Xmas show will be your only opportunity to see the band play in the early part of 2019.

Last year’s shows in Wolverhampton sold out very quickly so, to drop the obligatory Xmas pun, there’s no time like the present!
