Jazz <redefiner> Walter Smith to tour UKSaxophonist Walter Smith III, described in US journal Jazz Times as “redefining jazz”, can be seen across the country next January and February in an inaugural UK tour, as part of the Walter Smith III Project.

Playing at a selection of venues up and down the country, from London to Birmingham to Nottingham (see full list below), the Texan saxophonist will be performing tracks from his three acclaimed albums (Casually Introducing, Live In Paris and III), as well as hosting some jazz master classes and workshops.

This is his first tour of the UK, but the sax player has toured worldwide and collaborated with greats such as Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard and Jason Moran. His sound is said to be marked by exciting improvisation and creativity, making his live sets unmissable.

For his UK tour the saxophonist will team up with Michael Janisch (bass), Jamire Williams (drums) and Mathew Stevens (guitar). Visit Walter Smith III online to find out more.
