Quick Note from Dr. Boyce: Thank you to those who came out to our New Paradigm event in Washington, DC. It was awesome, and the house was packed as it was in New York. I’m happy to see that people are responding and it appears that our community is ready for another powerful movement. We’re planning our next stop on the tour as we speak, and I suspect that it’s going to be Detroit. I’ll keep you posted.
Also, thanks to Dr. Steve Perry, former NBA player and author Etan Thomas, Dr. Towanna Freeman, Dr. Wilmer Leon and filmmaker Janks Morton for giving their time to the community. Thank you to Maria Lloyd, Glenda Warren and Shauntay Prewitt for their help in planning the event. Also, thanks to George Washington University for lending us their space. I admit that we’re learning as we go, so I appreciate your patience and support on this.
As I’ve mentioned in the past, we don’t accept corporate sponsorship for the things that we do and try to give away as much as we can for free at YBW. But bills have to be paid. Among major black online media, we are the only ones that are truly owned by black people, so we don’t have the advantage of having large financial benefactors like MSNBC, Viacom or Time Warner. So, your support is appreciated and a very important part of the process.
If you’d like to show your support for the tour, please take a second on this Cyber Monday to pay avisit to the Your Black World Store. We have a special sale on a group of highly intriguing products that will help you understand the crux of our push for black freedom of thought and economic independence. I’ve been a Finance professor for 20 years, and I can assure you that the most important steps in our quest for equality relate to: 1) Economic advancement, 2) Educational achievement, and 3) Confronting the criminal justice system. I’ve designed most of myinformational/educational content around this objective.
Please join us in this fight. You can support by purchasing a discounted product by visiting this link.
Until we meet again, please stay strong, be blessed and be educated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Boyce Watkins
